♥ New Cellphone

I found out about Hello Kitty cellphones from Roma when she posted a status in Facebook. So searched for it on Ebay. They are uber cute so I did not hesitate to buy one. The downside of it is that it is a touch screen and I have to use the stick like a PDA. It was a bit hard to text and I have to attached the stick to the phone. I was a little bit disappointed. I am now thinking of selling this and just buy a different one.

We still haven't found the perfect house for us. But after seeing this house last night, I think this is the one. Though the room in the basement is partly finished, I think Cale's dad might do some finishing touch to it.

Liam's footprint that I made yesterday. I got the foot and hand print kit from Auntie Pam since Liam was born but I was waiting for the right time to do it.

What a beautiful day today. Finally, I can feel that it is Spring already. Liam and I took a 30-minute stroll around the park. The down side is there are puddles everywhere. I was carefully walking on the side of the road to prevent from getting splashed. My jeans were a little bit wet though I folded the bottom about an inch.

I babysat Callum today. He is easy to look after. Just turn the TV to channel 42 (cartoons) and he sits on the couch quietly.

♥ Burning Down The House

This is not the first time I burned the rice. I have my rice cooker packed up in Petra's house so I'm only using an ordinary pot. We do have a steamer/rice cooker but it is a little bit of hassle to wash the whole thing. I was on my computer and noticed the smoke coming from the kitchen. I also heard Cale's voice so I got up and there was my rice. The inside of the pot bottom is almost like a charcoal. Smoke everywhere even in all the bedrooms. I turned the vent on and open all the windows. Luckily, the weather looks good today so we did't mind the cold air. I also lit up some candles to somehow absorb the stinky, burnt smell. Later today, I was making something for Liam. I guess I am suffering a memory loss and forgot about what I have on the stove. This time no smoke but the broth was almost empty and I guess the vegetables absorbed the liquid. What is happening to me?

♥ Changes

One day I just felt like this is some kind of a wake up call for me. I realized I should act and think responsibly now to be a good example for my son. No more impulsive buying. I have this problem for a long time. I have read a lot of tips and help on how to save and control yourself for buying that is not necessary. Now is my time to change. Today is the start of my "New Year's Solution". :)

♥ Got Scammed?

Last Sunday, I got a phone call from an anonymous caller who called me two days in a row. I normally don't answer any unknown numbers and if that call is important, she/he will leave a message on my voice mail. Unfortunately for me, it was not a good time to answer that phone call. It was from this company called Universal Explorations. This asian-accent guy told me that I was the lucky one to be chosen to get this "vacation package". He specifically told me that I won a contest which I don't even recall. I have entered a lot of contest from different websites so I entertained him. I listened to everything he said though I couldn't really understand what he was talking about because of his accent. He told me I won a trip to Florida and a bonus trip to Cancun, Mexico. I was thrilled until he transferred me to a lady asking for my credit card number. I asked her why do I need to pay $498 US if I won the contest. She said the deal is that they only have to pay 75%+ of the trip. I declined the offer but she insisted that they picked me out and I was one of the lucky person to get this deal. She did tell me too to look at the package first and then I can cancel the package and get my money back. I agreed.

Two days after that conversation I received an email from them and got the travel package which includes:
  • 3 days, 2 nights in Orlando, FL with two 2-day passes for Islands of Adventure or Universal Studios and $500 Florida savings/coupon booklet
  • 3 days, 2 nights in Daytona Beach, FL with up to 4 adult passes to board the Sun Casino dinner cruise
  • Bonus 5 days and 4 nights Cancun, Mexico
Sounds very exciting isn't it? After reading the whole package, I got very disappointed. The air fare is not included, only the hotel accomodation is included. But it stated there that the package is good for 12 months and it can be extendable until completed and transferable.

So now I am thinking of giving the Mexico package to my brother as a wedding gift. I looked for flights for Florida and it costs $650+ (the cheapest). Cale doesn't really want to travel anywhere by plane.

Here's the deal:
  • Who will I travel with?
  • Will I have enough money to travel? (I am still on maternity leave and still needs to pay out my debt and that Dominican Republic trip last month.)
  • I can't cancel the package because it was stated in their website that the package is non-refundable. (liar bitch!)

♥ My Birthday Weekend

I can't believe I am now 26 years old. But one thing is for sure, I don't feel older. :D I liked my outfit that night. I was wearing all Forever 21. From cardigan, purple top and high-waisted skirt. The shoes was a sandal boots from Ebay.

Cale got me a bottle of Cognac. He said he was going to get me flowers but...I don't know what was his reasoning for not getting me flowers. He did ask me what I wanted for my birthday but I want him to be more thoughtful. I told him yesterday to get me a pedicure gift certificate instead. Crissy got me a business suit with matching skirt. Denise got me a Londonderry Mall gift card which I already spend yesterday and a movie gift card. My brother got me a True Religion jeans and my mom gave me cash money. :)

Dinner @ Lux Steakhouse & Bar with friends

I personally did not like the food from Lux. It was somewhat a ripped off.

Brunch @ La Ronde with my family

La Ronde's brunch buffet was really good. I would like to come back again next time.
